Saga of the Broader Sphere: update

the music blog show turned out really well-- with a well chosen blog, the flow for a good show is already in place. i only took out one track, a superlong mix, and i faded out another really long song.

other than the only rearrangement i did was to play the first song they ever posted (a throbbing gristle song, of course, off of the album 20 jazz funk greats) along with a brief mention of their first entry. i actually had some parts i wanted to read from that entry selected, but the woman before me ran way over on time so i cut it.

20 jazz funk greats' authors wrote me back without much fanfare. they were just like "oh, cool, thanks."

what else did i expect, i guess? haha.

the show still ruled. that's the main point.

and let them know I'm using their blog on the MIXTAPE MIXTAPE show tonight. Hopefully they think it's wonderful for me to be crossplatforming like this, and this will be the start of a long and lovely series of collaborations between FM and the internet.

Blog House Transmission

To follow up on my post about radio shows featuring blogs, I'd like to announce I've made that a regular (monthly) edition of the MIXTAPE MIXTAPE show on WRIR. I think it's going to be cool. If anyone wants to suggest a blog to feature hit me up.

Next step is let bloggers know what I'm doing and see what they say.

Oh, and here is the most recent MIXTAPE MIXTAPE (including audio download). The show airs Sunday nights 11-1 eastern, with rotating hosts. I will be doing the blog feature every first Sunday, starting Feb 1.
